We would like to make members aware of the Cork Branch outings also, as many members are able to attend both. Their outings can be found on their website

Except where indicated, all events are free and non-Members are very welcome.

West Cork Bird Race

8:30am         Race start at Scally’s SuperValu car park, Clonakilty

6:00pm        Race finish at O’Donovan’s Hotel, Clonakilty

Harper’s Island – Joint outing with Cork Branch

2:00pm        Meet at Harper’s Island First Hide (51.90874N -8.31445W).  Parking is                         available in a layby near the entrance & at Glounthaune Station (8                               minutes’ walk, west of the entrance).  Bring suitable clothing &                                   refreshments.

4.30am         Meet at Meet at Dromillihy Wood car park for prompt start at 4:45am.                          Refreshments afterwards. The car park is on N71 between Connonagh &                      Leap (W 237 383; GPS 51.59295N, -9.10091W).

Cape Clear – Spring migration

11:45am      Meet at the Cape Clear Bird Observatory (ferry from Baltimore leaves at                         11:00am).  This is a full day outing.  Bring suitable footwear and clothing                    and a picnic lunch.  Return on 5:00pm ferry.
